Trudner Horn – holidays in the nature parkDreamlike larch woodlands, blossoming meadows, fragrant woodlands, majestic mountain peaks that you seem to be able to grasp. The motto of this region is to get to know nature and enjoy it! Our mild sub-Mediterranean climate transforms our countryside into a unique sea of blossoms as early as mid-April. The Trudner Horn nature park is the most southern German-speaking holiday region of the south side of the Alps and is South Tyrol’s nature park that is richest in its species. In the hiking paradise Trudner Horn you will come across numerous wetlands, moorlands and meadows of larches filled with flowers. The protected flora and fauna such as the Mäusedorn, a sort of wild lily, the green lizard or also sub-Mediterranean representatives such as holly make your hiking holiday in South Tyrol into a worthwhile experience.
The nature park area is structured on two opposing kinds of rock. On the Etsch valley side, it is dolomite and in the east it is brownish-red quartz porphyr. The Naturparkhaus (visitor information centre) Trudner Horn is located in Truden where it is accommodated in an old mill. This three-storied mill is the heart of the house. Opening hours: from 7 April to 7 November, always Tuesday to Saturdays. July, August and September open also on Sundays from 9am to 12.00 noon and from 3pm to 6.30pm.
