The name “Luvina” is derived from the Anterivo lupin, a beautiful blue flower that grows in our mountains. It has been used to brew “Anterivo coffee” – a mixture of the lupins with barley, wheat or figs – for as long as we can remember. This beverage, known as “Voltuier Kaffee” in the local dialect, was extremely popular when normal filter coffee made from coffee beans wasn’t as well known, As time moved on, Anterivo coffee was slowly forgotten, yet it has seen a revival in recent years and inspired a number of other lupin-based products.
